Award ceremony 2015 of the Friedrich-August-von-Hayek-Stiftung

The 2015 award ceremony took place on 22 November in the historic merchants' hall in Freiburg and honored Jens Weidmann with the International Prize of the Friedrich-August-von-Hayek-Stiftung and Udo Di Fabio with the Publishing Prize of the Friedrich-August-von-Hayek-Stiftung.
Roman Herzog was also awarded the Honorary Prize of the Friedrich-August-von-Hayek-Stiftung. As Federal President, he campaigned for reforms, deregulation and civil rights and always emphasized the importance of freedom. The prize honored his services to the principles of the market economy and his influence on German politics. Herzog is regarded as a staunch advocate of a free society and demonstrated impressively in his political career how state restraint and personal commitment can promote freedom. With the honorary award, the foundation recognizes his role as one of Germany's most important liberal thinkers.
